The biography of Lincoln is available in many places and with many writers. This book was written originally in Tamil by an immigrant inspired by Lincoln’s life and impacts. The book itself is an easy read and airily well researched, with an overlay of discussion between two deities opining on Lincoln’s life. There are better biographies out there - this one is an ok read and the inspiration with which it was written make it a touching one.

Lincoln Story The Wayfarer eBook Vel Reviews

I have always been intrigued with history, presidents and the Civil War. Thus book covers all that and so much more. I was pleased to discover how much impact president Lincoln had on our country then and continues to now. If it had not been for his mild manner temperament, patience and insight the world we know would be drastically different. Throughout the book it tells you about other key players of the time and how they had an impact on how Lincoln handled events and problems of the time. If you are a lover of history, presidents and the Civil war I highly recommend this book to you. You will find it difficult to put down.
I am not a history buff and I typically don't like historical kind of novels, but this was the exception. Written with a easy-going and conversational style it was fun to read. I probably learned more about history in this book (in a real, not "text book" style way) than I have in any history class. So intriguing and made even a non-history lover interested.
I'm not quite sure what to think about this book. It has some interesting details about Lincoln's life, but there is a strong, clearly fictional, component, and it makes me question how much truth is in the rest of the book.
I initially thought this was written for/by youth because the sentences were so short and choppy and the grammar was poor in places. Then I learned the author may have English as a second language, so I stuck with it. Normally, I'm quick to toss aside something I don't believe worthy of my time, but it was interesting and read quickly. I agree with a previous reviewer when they mentioned the God/Godess exchanges were confusing. The quotes were mostly familiar, but the point-of-view was new to me and overall, worth the time investment. I wish more information was available on the author.
This biography of President Abraham Lincoln presents him as a man trying his best to protect and reunite this country.
The author makes sure to show the human side of this man. He wasn't perfect but he tried his best to keep the United States united.
I have to admit this was nothing like what I had expected. First off the author tells you not to read the first and last chapters if you aren't a believer, in what he doesn't describe. I read the first chapter, but I have to say I gave up on the book about one third of the way through. I was hoping for a biography, not a political dissertation. I wanted to read more about Lincoln's childhood and his young life, this was not to be.
If you have never read a biography of Lincoln then this may be a decent read, but unfortunately for myself I have read a few before this one.
Vel's book is an informative rendition on the early
life and career development of Abraham Lincoln.
The book documents the birth of Lincoln, early
life in the wilderness and his early start with a
political career in 1834 as a legislator at a
young age.

The author documents how Lincoln met Mary Todd
at a party. In addition, he spent time at the home of
Joshua Speed. The book explains how Lincoln
prepared lectures. He was not a Church goer although
the former president never denied the voracity of the
Scriptures.

Lincoln opposed the war with Mexico and somehow
his election to the Presidency was secured when
Carter backed his nomination as the Republican
Party nominee. The book is filled with very
interesting historical tidbits which are likely
unknown to most Americans. Read the book and
learn something significant in American history.
